Adobe recently released a brand new version of Lightroom—Lightroom CC. This version of Lightroom has a web-based application, mobile applications, and a desktop version. At this writing, this version isn't as powerful as the Lightroom Classic CC (the new name for the Lightroom desktop version we have been using for years)!
Even though it isn't quite as powerful as Lightroom Classic CC, we have found that you CAN use your presets in this version. However, they are only available in the DESKTOP version and not the web-based or mobile versions of the app. Hopefully, that feature will come soon, along with the ability to sync your presets across the different versions of the app!
Installing Your Pretty Presets is Easy!
The good news is that installing your Pretty Presets for Lightroom is as easy as copying, pasting, restarting. Follow the steps below, or check out the short video at the bottom of this post!
Open the Lightroom CC app on your desktop. The app will look like this!
Click on the the Editing section of the app. It is designated with three horizontal lines with a circle on each line.
Open the Presets section. You'll do this by clicking on the Presets bar at the bottom of the Editing section.
Click on the three dots at the top of the Presets panel that opens. Choose "Open Presets Folder".
The Develop Presets folder that opens is where you want to paste any presets you want to load into Lightroom CC. Navigate to where you have your Pretty Presets stored on your computer. Highlight and copy the folders you want to load into Lightroom CC. Paste them into the Develop Presets folder that opened.
Close Lightroom and reopen it. The presets you loaded will now appear when you click on the Presets bar at the bottom of the Edit Panel.
Now enjoy using your Pretty Presets in the NEW Adobe Lightroom CC 2017!!
