I do feel like I have so far to go in my work! So to say that I am honored to be a part of "Transformation Tuesday" on Pretty Presets is an understatement! I am a self- taught photographer so having the tools that presets provides is so amazing. It has helped me with my workflow so much! (Especially the weddings I shoot.)
I have always been a creative and artistic person, but I purchased my first DSLR (bare minimum with a kit lens) when my son, Hudson, was 4 months old. He is now 5 1/2 and is so sick of me taking pictures of him). Since then I have had one more amazing little girl, Sophia, and upgraded my gear.
I use golden hour as much as I can. It is amazing light and is flattering on everyone.
2) Practice, practice, practiceI used to get so discouraged when I felt like my images weren't turning out the way I wanted them too. So I started dressing my kiddos up and having special little sessions with them (during golden hour, remember!) and would try new things with them.
3) Ask questionsI am very guilty of this frequently. I have no shame I guess! haha! I mean, how else are you going to learn anything!? And guess what? I don't mind answering questions when other photographers ask me. I have so many awesome people help (and are still helping) so I want to help others as well!
4) Stop comparing yourself to other photographersJust stop it. Stop it right now! Find your own groove and art. You are awesome, you are unique, you are YOU!
5) Learn that it IS ok to say "no" at times.I still struggle with this, but guess what? The world is not going to end if you say "no". I love photography so much. But not more than I love my family! :)
I am a Mom to 2 of the most precious littles, wife and natural light photographer in Oklahoma. I am so blessed to get to have a job that I adore! I pretty much wear sweat pants every day and I don't care who knows it. Check out my Facebook page and my website.
